SA: Opposition calls for government action over uranium spill
Federal and state politicians say the Beverley uranium mine in South Australia mustclose until an independent inquiry is held into a spill of 60,000 litres of radioactiveliquid.
The mine's operator, Heathgate Resources, says a computer error caused Friday night'sspill, which was revealed to the public some 24 hours later.
The company is investigating the spill as the federal opposition joined a chorus ofSA politicians today in calling for an independent inquiry.
